This little cutie was not a big fan of being naked, but his mom’s space heater worked like a charm! Knocked him right out. Great thinking Mom! I hope to get back soon and photograph the whole family – and meet baby K’s big brother! Here is a little sneak peek for you guys.

I barely felt like I worked at this session. After threatening to bust out my fart machine (ha!), this guy had no problems striking a pose. He tried to play the typical I-have-better-things-to-do-than-take-photos role, but I could see right through it. :) D’s parents were so cool and hospitable (thank you!), I didn’t want the shoot to end! The Tow house has been busy busy busy lately. We had a joint birthday party for the older two. Audra turned 4 at the end of August, and Aidan will be 6 in a few days! Plus, my birthday was a week and a half ago (it was great!). And my Dad’s birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday Dad! It’s been a lot of fun though. It’s so great spending all of these precious moments with our family now that we’re back home in Indiana. This is what I’d always looked forward to – and now we have it!

So, in light of all of the birthday fun, I thought I’d share some recent portraits of my sweeties. Knock on wood, but I think they are actually having fun with it now! No more breakdowns or eye rolling! Like all models though, they do require payment. Just last night, I allowed Aidan to stay up and watch the Nascar race. Ha!

And even though his birthday isn’t for a few more months, I had to include a few of the baby. And yes, his shoes are on the wrong feet. He likes it that way! :)

So, I show up at this session and Miss J had all kinds of cute & fun clothes picked out! You only see two here but she had a lot more. :) And not only that, she’s super smart! (Currently 3rd in her class!) I’m so excited because her mom showed me a new location to shoot at, and it is beautiful! I’m already scheming OUR family photo session haha (whenever that’s gonna happen!). It took a little bit to bring out her attitude, but once she got going, she had no problem (my kind of girl!!). Had to keep the title PG ya know!

Today’s session was so much fun! It rained earlier in the day but we had perfect skies and it was almost too sunny during the shoot. Awesome! We started out with some studio stuff and I was totally pushing my luck with the weather. It was nice but I wanted the sun to go down a bit more. Thankfully the rain never came so we were okay. So anyway, H is totally into photography which was nice because he came up with some great poses! And he didn’t once say, “are we done yet?!”. I talked he and his mom’s ears off (sorry about that!) but they were polite and listened lol. You know, my hubby only listens for so long before his eyes glaze over and I start getting the “oh yeah”s and “mmhmmm”s. So I torture all other adults I find with my babbling. Lucky them!!

Okay, so the title is for one particular moment in the session. I could get him to smile (easy) and give me a closed-mouth smile, but I wanted him to give me his tough look. Well, he kept cracking up! It was too funny. Guess you had to be there….. ;)

Well, I said I was going back to take some outdoor shots but wouldn’t you know it-another rainstorm! And it was a beautiful day all the way up until then too. I went to high school with this little sweetheart’s mom and we reconnected recently on Facebook (love FB!!). Her little girl just turned six months and I had the honor of capturing it! She was so adorable with her little bangs and chunky legs. And boy does she love her feet! The weather didn’t cooperate with us so hopefully I’ll get to snap some outside shots with her another day. Well, who am I kidding? I just wanna hold her again! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this little sneak peek of Miss L!

Married to the Military…once again!

My husband was in the Navy for almost 9 years (we were married for 8 of them…together for all). He got out in February and we moved home and I sooo thought we were done with it! Don’t get me wrong, the military has been good to us. But ya know, we were moving onto the next chapter in our lives. As you all know though, life has many twists and turns and here we are again! This time though, it’s a part time gig-the reserves. I can deal with that! Because I am who I am (a huge nerd), I coordinated the kids clothing to match our big day. :D Of course when I got home, I had to get some snaps of them. Don’t mind the fact that my baby boy seems to be wearing a belly shirt. I love his belly, so it’s okay.

Getting too old…too fast | Plainfield Child Photographer

So…my kids. They are growing up and getting smarter everyday. They actually WANT me to take their pictures these days. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining! All I’m saying is…who are these little ones and where have my children gone?!

My oldest is going to start school in less than a month and I’m fairly certain he already knows more than me. Like…he can name and locate the fifty states (I can at least do that!). Then on top of that, he can name the capitals. WHAT?! I wish I could claim credit for his knowledge, but well, not so much!

My little princess is becoming quite the little Diva (yes, with a capital D). She not only tells the boys what to do, but she has proclaimed herself the “boss”. I always say she’s 3 going on 18. NOT an understatement. :) But you know what? She loves clothes and shoes and dancing and singing to LOUD music. So she’s my best girl. I do a little bit of bossing around myself so what can I say?

The little one. Well, he’s a character. He went from saying 5 words to speaking full sentences in a matter of months. At least now he can scream the sentence when he wants something, instead of “UGHHHHHH”. So good times. He is still quite the cuddler though, which I absolutely love.

This session was so fun…there was a proposal! It looks posed, but that’s only because I knew about it minutes before the session. I gave R the thumbs up and she knew I was ready. Boy was L surprised! They’ve been together 11 years and they still love to laugh at with each other. :) I couldn’t be happier for them. Congrats you lovebirds! Here are a couple of their images:
